Getting tired of wearing the same old
thing or looking like everyone else? You don't have to spend a lot of
money or shop for hours to get a new
wardrobe. Instead of getting new clothes or throwing out your old ones, use
these suggestions and tips to recycle them.
STEPS
Go through your closet and dresser and
pick out anything you are tired of, hate, or don't wear because it's old or you
don't wear anymore and pile them up on the side
Sort out your pile
Some of your old clothes may be used again
either because of the fabric or design. Whatever it is it can be re used to
design or create something that you can wear again. Don't count something out
just because it's plain or boring; this might make a great base for one of your
designs.
Clothes that don't fit you anymore
Jeans that are short can be cut into shorts for summer. Also small tops can be used as short tops to show off some skin in the summer.
Starting off
See what you can do with the top or jeans.
Either you want to cut it or mix the material with another top by sewing
something on it. Hold it up next to other clothes so it can give you more ideas
on what to do.
Using magazines and internet for
inspiration.
Going through magazines and the internet
can give you more ideas on how you would like to design your clothes. That way
you can stay up to date with your style and also create something no one else
has.
Less sewing is better
There are other ways to design that
doesn't involve sewing. You can dye your clothes, be-dazzle or cut your clothes,
creating doesn't need to be fancy.
Donate or sell your clothes that you don't
need
You can either donate your old clothes or
the ones that you have re-invented or you can hold a garage sale you’re
not only getting rid of the clothes but you are also making money from it too.
Excellent idea.
