How to SAVE when you go out shopping !!!

So, the last time you went shopping you ended up spending all your money and were really regretting it. But saving money on clothes is not that difficult.

Following these steps will help you conquer your fear of being BROKE!!

STEPS

1.    Make a list. [What you Need & What you DON'T need]
Planning always works and does wonders when you are shopping. Before going to the mall just think and prepare a list about what you need. The list should only contain what you NEED and what you DON'T need.

    2.   Avoid Credit Cards & Take ONLY Cash.
If you cannot control yourself while you are shopping and buy almost everything that comes into your sight, then shop with cash just carry at least $100.00 in your pockets.

3.    Look for good bargains.
It is better if you wait for the sales keep in mind don’t make excuses as to why you MIGHT need it. Sales are good, but don't get too carried away. When you are buying from a sale make sure the quality of the clothes is also nice and is worth the price.

    4.    Be focused.
No matter how hard you try to save money on clothes you need to remember why you are doing it. So, keep reminding yourself why you need to save money as this helps in making your self control much more better.

5.   Purchase only one thing from each store
Before you enter the store think ‘ONLY ONE THING’. Remember only to buy what you need not what you need and what would go well/ match it.

6.    Buy what you require not what you want.
We love to shop and want a lot of clothes but most of the times it is better to check your wardrobe. If winter is around the corner don't buy clothes for the summer just because they are trendy, but buy clothes needed for winter.

    7.   Shop smartly.
Buy items that go with more than 2 or 3 of your clothes, which allows you to change your look without buying different items for each of your dress.

8.    Buying Accessories.
Buy some nice jewelry that goes with your clothes. They make your clothes more attractive and you won't have to spend much money on it. In saying this you need to buy jewelry that you can use more than once. Don't buy what you already have!

9.   When buying heels
The secret to buying shoes is to buy heels of different colors and different designs. This way it may look like you have a lot of shoes, if you were to buy the same color shoes but the same designs people are going to notice.

10. Spend $100 a month & ALWAYS go with someone.
This way you are up to date with your fashion sense rather than buying a bulk all at once and the fashion trend fades the next week. Take someone with you while shopping who can help you with buying fewer clothes.

HAPPY SAVING EVERYONE :)

Be a HERO and Donate to Salvation Army

If you don’t know what to do with your old clothes don’t throw them away you can donate it to the Salvation Army. As the saying goes one man’s rubbish is another man’s treasure! If you’re not too sure then read the following information about Salvation Army and why they are well known across New Zealand and in the Pacific.

Salvation Army have been helping family and children for more than 125 years, trying to make a difference in New Zealand and caring for those that are less fortunate. Hunger, homelessness, social isolation, addiction, loneliness, unemployment when people are facing hardship, they are compelled to do something about it. Not only in New Zealand but they are also helping Pacific Islands through donations.

They follow closely the orthodox beliefs of the Protestant Church. Every person becoming a member (soldier) of the Army signs a covenant which amongst other things acknowledges their acceptance of these truths which are the foundation for Salvation Army beliefs and practices internationally.

Helping families around New Zealand is important to them, Salvation Army Family Stores are a great way to recycle clothing, furniture, household goods, toys and books, and help struggling households. The goods sold make a huge different to people’s lives and provide much-needed relief in tight household budgets. Profits from goods and clothing sold through the Family Stores support community work.

Your generosity helps them make a difference by building better communities. With the different programs they offer such as Kiwis Helping Kiwis, Food Banks, Family Stores, Cherish a Child Sponsorship Programme and Overseas Development just to name a few.

With this said Salvation Army helps others with the support from the community so please donate your old clothes or anything else that you don’t use anymore. You can also donate your creations for others to use if you want to.

Donating your belongings to help others is the way to go J

Need a NEW Wardrobe ?? Customize NOW !!

Getting tired of wearing the same old thing or looking like everyone else? You don't have to spend a lot of

money or shop for hours to get a new wardrobe. Instead of getting new clothes or throwing out your old ones, use these suggestions and tips to recycle them.

STEPS

Find clothes you don't wear anymore

Go through your closet and dresser and pick out anything you are tired of, hate, or don't wear because it's old or you don't wear anymore and pile them up on the side

Sort out your pile

Some of your old clothes may be used again either because of the fabric or design. Whatever it is it can be re used to design or create something that you can wear again. Don't count something out just because it's plain or boring; this might make a great base for one of your designs.

Clothes that don't fit you anymore

Jeans that are short can be cut into shorts for summer. Also small tops can be used as short tops to show off some skin in the summer.

Starting off

See what you can do with the top or jeans. Either you want to cut it or mix the material with another top by sewing something on it. Hold it up next to other clothes so it can give you more ideas on what to do.

Using magazines and internet for inspiration.

Going through magazines and the internet can give you more ideas on how you would like to design your clothes. That way you can stay up to date with your style and also create something no one else has.

Less sewing is better

There are other ways to design that doesn't involve sewing. You can dye your clothes, be-dazzle or cut your clothes, creating doesn't need to be fancy.

Donate or sell your clothes that you don't need

You can either donate your old clothes or the ones that you have re-invented or you can hold a garage sale you’re not only getting rid of the clothes but you are also making money from it too. Excellent idea.

Do Shopaholics Exist?????

Definition of a shopaholic is someone who loves to shop and will go to the extreme to purchase something no matter the price, how far the store is, if she goes by herself or what the weather is like. The only determination she has is to go out and buy something with an excuse of either being stressed, having a mid-life crises or the common excuse of all “because it’s on SALE”.

Let’s face it everyone loves to shop, and sometimes you need to spoil yourself once in a while. But there are some people who take spoiling themselves to a whole new level, take for example some have a limit to spending and can only spend within their budget, while others go psycho and spend over their budget and are tempted to get a credit card (devils card).

How do I know they’re crazy? Well firstly, they have this look in their eyes like they’re hungry for something, craving and nothing can stop them. Secondly, they need to either try on everything in every shop.

Here are some different types of shopaholics

Subspecies: Emotional Shopaholics
This group loves retail therapy-going on spending sprees directly to alleviate bad feelings. Once the retail excursion ends, emotional shoppers plummet back to their previous state-often lower.

Members of this subgroup often use splurges to fill a perceived hole in their lives. Someone who shops to banish a feeling she's not worthy of respect.

Subspecies: Bipolar Shopaholics
When certain people with bipolar disorder hit a manic high, the first thing they think to do is shop. They may tell themselves they can act without consequences, which includes splurging beyond their means.

Sometimes out-of-control spending is the primary presenting symptom of mania; the disorder often starts as depression, and since shopping is a socially acceptable activity, people may not realize they've swung into mania until they tally up their receipts.

Subspecies: Obsessive Shopaholics
If you feel an urge to buy the same top in six colors or to replace your coffeemaker monthly because you keep finding "better" models, you may be an obsessive shopaholic.

A more effective solution may be exposure and response prevention therapy-repeatedly planting obsessive over shoppers in contexts that compel them to splurge. Over time, they learn it's possible to refrain, and the urge to go wild in such environments cool.

Gender Divide
Male shopaholics, may stock up on items like tools, books, or electronics, whereas women gravitate toward clothes, shoes, and jewelry, depending on what they are into. As many women view a shopping spree as a social occasion-a chance to spend time with friends who aid and abet one another's buying behavior-men may treat it like a competition, getting their buzz from, say, winning a heated eBay auction or snagging the best deal on an in-demand item.

Now you know that Shopaholics are REAL ! they are out there trying to run the world with material things they want and need to satisfy their own happiness. Now that you know that they do exist what subspecies do you fall under??
